Patna, July 5 -- Owner of Magadh Hospital here, Gopal Khemka, was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Patna, police said today.
Police sources said the incident occurred late Friday night in Gandhi Maidan police area when Khemka (65) was returning home from Patna Club in his car. As he alighted at the gate of his apartment near Hotel Panash, the assailants, who were lying in wait, shot him and seriously injured him.
Khemka's family members rushed him to a private hospital in Patna, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination.
The police are currently investigating the case.
