Madurai Court awards double death sentences for all 9 convicted cops in Sathankulam father, son custodial death case

Chennai, April 6 -- In a stringent order, the Madurai First Additional District Court awarded double death sentence to all the nine convicted police personnel in the sensational and brutal father-son Sathakulam custodial death case of 2020.

Prounononcing the quantum of sentence to the accused, Judge Muthukumaran imposed a fine of Rs 15 lakh on prime accused Inspector S Sridhar, besides more penalty on four counts separately in the case.

The judge also imposed fines on all other accused on each of the four counts.

The nine police personnel convicted and awarded death penalties are the then Inspector S. Sridhar, whose bail plea had already been rejected by the Madurai Bench of Madras High Court, Sub-Inspectors P. Raghu Ganesh and K. Balakr...
