Chennai, Sept. 25 -- A Division Bench of the Madras High Court todayrejected the appeal filed by Infosys Limited against the TANGEDCOdemand of Rs 14.67 crores, representing the outstanding amountpayable for commercial activities within the company's industrialpremises.
TANGEDCO provided subsidised electricity rates under the industrialtariff to Infosys for its office at Mahindra World City located in Paranurvillage in Chengalpattu district, to attract industries.
However, the company also operated ITES (BPO) services until 2010under the commercial tariff.
Additionally, Infosys accommodated various restaurants, banks andcommercial establishments within the premises and permitted themto use the industrial connection.
