Chennai, April 23 -- The Madras High Court on Wednesday dismissed three petitions--two filed by the state-owned TASMAC, the monopoly in selling liquor in Tamil Nadu and the one by the State Government--against the recent raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) unearthing irregularities to the tune of Rs 1,000 crore.

Dismissing the batch of petitions, a Division Bench comprising Mr Justices SM Subramaniam and K Rajasekar directed the ED to go ahead with further proceedings under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.

The Court had on Monday (April 21), after hearing petitions filed by TASMAC questioning the authority of ED in conducting the raids, reserved its orders for today.
