Kolkata, Jan. 15 -- The Election Commission of India has clarified that the Madhyamik (secondary examination) admit card will not be accepted as a valid document for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in West Bengal.

In a letter addressed to West Bengal's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar Agarwal, the Commission clearly stated its position on the matter.

Earlier, the Commission had specified a list of 13 documents that would be considered valid for the SIR process.

During a meeting between the CEO and district electoral officers, the possibility of accepting the Madhyamik admit card as a valid document was discussed.
