Sehore, Aug. 5 -- Two women died on the spot, and more than ten devotees were injured, two of them grievously, in a stampede today at Kathawachak Pradeep Mishra's Kubereshwar Dham, Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh.
The stampede took place when 'rudraksha' (dried stones of the fruit of the Elaeocarpus Ganitrus tree) distribution was suddenly halted.
"After the incident, three victims were rushed to the District Hospital, where two were pronounced dead," police said.
The deceased, yet to be identified, were aged approximately 50 years.
