Aizawl, April 4 -- Lunglei, Mizoram's second-largest urban centre after state capital Aizawl, is battling an escalating water crisis as its main water source - the Pialthleng stream - is drying up rapidly due to an extended dry spell, officials said Friday.
Public Health Engineering (PHE) Superintending Engineer Zohmingliana told reporters that while emergency water distribution continues under severe strain, no significant measures have yet been taken by the state government to bolster the town's overall water supply. "The situation is worsening by the day," he added.
