Lucknow, Feb. 25 -- An 87-year-old shrine that has quietly anchored faith and social harmony along Lucknow's Kanpur Road is set for a comprehensive facelift.
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has allocated an Rs 80.27 lakh project for the tourism development and beautification of the Ravidas Temple at Bara Birwa, with Rs 60 lakh already released as the first instalment to fast-track the works.
The redevelopment aims to enhance facilities for the steady stream of devotees who visit the temple, especially during Ravidas Jayanti when the precinct transforms into a vibrant centre of devotional gatherings and community participation.
