Lucknow, Sept. 21 -- Lucknow police have decided to install complaint boxes in girls' schools and women's colleges as part of innovative measures to curb activities of street Romeos near educational institutes in this capital city of Uttar Pradesh, sources said today.
Students will be able to file complaints in the boxes anonymously, and the police will then take action, according to the initiative taken by Lucknow Police Commissioner Amrendra Kumar Sengar and JCP (LO) Bablu Kumar.
The anti-Romeo Squad teams from 54 police stations were briefed during the day.
Each squad includes armed uniformed police officers and male and female plainclothes police officers. The squad will be active daily from 8 am to 8 pm.
