Aizawl, May 8 -- Authorities in Mizoram on Thursday expressed concern over poor public compliance during a city-wide civil defence mock drill held in Aizawl on May 7, particularly criticising the response to the five-minute blackout exercise that formed a key part of the drill.

At a high-level review meeting here, chaired by Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena, officials observed that many households using inverters either neglected or failed to switch off their power backups during the brief blackout, undermining the objectives of the simulation.

Even some headquarters of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and church buildings in the capital reportedly did not fully adhere to the directive.
