Amaravati, Nov. 19 -- A low-pressure area over the Comorin region and nearby areas shifted to the Lakshadweep Islands adjoining the Maldives by 0830 hours on Wednesday, the Meteorological Centre said.
The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level and is expected to move slowly west-northwestwards over the next 24 hours.
The Met office also reported a cyclonic circulation over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions, extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level. A fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 22 and may intensify further as it moves west-northwestwards over the following 48 hours.
