Amaravati, Aug. 16 -- The low-pressure area over south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh moved to south Chhattisgarh and its neighbourhood by 0830 hours on Saturday.
The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extended up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height. It is expected to move west-northwestwards, weaken gradually, and reach Gujarat as a remnant cyclonic circulation by the morning of August 18, according to the Meteorological Centre.
In its daily weather report, the Met office said a fresh low-pressure area is likely to form over northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal around August 18.
