Amaravati, Aug. 18 -- The well-marked low-pressure area over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal, along the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts, persisted at 8:30 am today.
The associated cyclonic circulation extended up to 9.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height.
According to the Meteorological Centre, it is likely to move west-northwestwards, concentrate into a depression within the next 12 hours, and cross the south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coast around the afternoon tomorrow.
