Hyderabad, Aug. 13 -- The low-pressure area over west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts persisted today, the Meteorological Centre said in a special bulletin here.

The associated upper air cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, tilting southwards with height. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become well-marked within the next 24 hours, before moving across north coastal Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha in the following 48 hours.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level currently passes through Bhatinda, Ambala, Shahjahanpur, Varanasi, Daltonganj, Jharsuguda, and extends south-southeastwards to the low-pressure area.
