Amaravati, Oct. 22 -- Tuesday's well-marked low pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal, off the Tamil Nadu coast, is likely to intensify into a depression, according to the Meteorological Centre.
The system is currently moving northwestwards and is expected to cross north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the subsequent 12 hours. The North East Monsoon remains active over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and vigorous over Rayalaseema.
