Amaravati, Sept. 12 -- A low-pressure area has formed over the west-central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off the north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation, the Meteorological Centre said.
The associated cyclonic circulation extended up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southward with height at 0830 hours today. The system is likely to move west-northwestwards across south Odisha and adjoining north Andhra Pradesh and south Chhattisgarh during the next two days.
