Amaravati, Nov. 18 -- The low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Sri Lanka moved to the Comorin area and its neighbourhood on Tuesday, the Meteorological Centre said.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.6 km above mean sea level and is expected to move slowly west-northwestwards over the next 24 hours.

The Met Office also reported that another low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around November 22. It is expected to move west-northwestwards and intensify further during the subsequent 48 hours.

The northeast monsoon remained active over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and was normal over Rayalaseema.
