Amaravati, Aug. 28 -- The low-pressure area over South Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh now lies over the central parts of Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood as of 0830 hours on Thursday.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestwards with height, Meteorological Centre said.

In its daily weather report here, it said that the monsoon trough currently passes through Sri Ganganagar, Shivpuri, Damoh, the centre of the low-pressure area over central Chhattisgarh and neighbourhood, Kalingapatnam, and further east-southeast into the central Bay of Bengal.

Under its influence, heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 24 hours.
