Amaravati, Sept. 2 -- The low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal persisted over the same region at 0830 hours on Tuesday.

It is likely to become more marked in the next 24 hours and move west-northwestwards across Odisha during the subsequent 24 hours, the Meteorological Centre said.

In its daily weather report here, it said that the monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Jaipur, Datia, Sidhi, Jharsuguda, Puri, and the center of the low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal.

The southwest monsoon is normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, while it remains weak over Rayalaseema.
