Hyderabad, Oct. 21 -- A low-pressure area that formed over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around 0530 hours on Tuesday has intensified into a deep depression by 0830 hours, according to the Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad.
The system, associated with a cyclonic circulation extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, is expected to move west-northwestwards over the next 24 hours, strengthen further, and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal near the north Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh coasts by tomorrow afternoon.
