Chennai, Jan. 6 -- Yesterday's Low Press Area over the Bay has become Well Marked over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoiningeast Equatorial Indian Ocean and persisted over the same region today, which is expected to revive the intense rainfall activity, with heavyto very heavy showers after a more than two-week hiatus, in various dilstricts of Tamil Nadu, including Cauvery Delta region and Northernregion from January 8 to 11.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over southwest Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards across southwest Bay of Bengal during the subsequent 48 hours,the Met office said in an update.
