Amaravati, Oct. 20 -- The upper air cyclonic circulation over the south Andaman Sea and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal persisted on Sunday and extended up to 5.8 km above mean sea level, the Meteorological Centre said.
Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours. The system is expected to move west-northwestwards and may intensify further into a depression over the central parts of the south Bay of Bengal and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal in the subsequent 48 hours.
The Southwest Monsoon has been normal over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema.
