Amaravati, Aug. 10 -- A low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal around August 13, the Meteorological Department said today.
Saturday's upper-air cyclonic circulation over north interior Karnataka and the surrounding areas, between 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level, continues to persist.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam on August 14 and 15. Heavy rain is also likely in these regions during the next 24 hours and from August 12 to 16.
Rayalaseema is also likely to experience heavy rain during the next 24 hours and again on August 14 and 15.
