Bengaluru, Oct. 9 -- A Head Police Constable attached to the City Armed Reserve, who was working as a driver in the escort team of Leader of Opposition R Ashoka, allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Byatarayanapura yesterday night.
The deceased has been identified as Sharanappa Ramagol (34), a native of Kalaburagi district. He had been serving in Ashoka's escort team.
Police said that Sharanappa was found hanging at his rented house, and no suicide note was recovered from the spot.
According to preliminary information, the incident came to light when his brother-in-law visited the house. The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital for postmortem examination.
