Chitradurga, Aug. 17 -- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and LoP R Ashoka today came down heavily on the Congress government, accusing it of deliberately targeting Hindu religious institutions while remaining silent in cases concerning mosques and minority organisations.

Ashoka, reacting to the ongoing Dharmasthala controversy, said that it shows the ruling party's mindset of belittling Hindu sentiments. "When it comes to temples, you raise endless debates and controversies. But when the issue involves a mosque, do you dare to touch it? Why is this discrimination against Hindus?" he told reporters.

The BJP leader alleged that there is a systematic attempt to malign Dharmasthala and other sacred Hindu centres.
