Hyderabad, March 5 -- Lonza Group AG has selected Hyderabad as the location for its new Global Capability Centre (GCC), a move expected to strengthen the city's position as a global life sciences hub.

A delegation from the Switzerland-headquartered company met Telangana IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu and CEO of Telangana Lifesciences, Shakthi M. Nagappan here on Thursday to convey the decision and outline its plans for the centre.

Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Switzerland, Lonza Group AG operates more than 30 sites globally and employs around 20,000 people. The company reported sales of CHF 6.5 billion and Core EBITDA of CHF 2.1 billion in 2025.
