Bengaluru, Sept. 27 -- The Karnataka Lokayukta has launched a suo motu probe into alleged mismanagement, irregularities, and malpractice at the state-run Kidwai Memorial Cancer Hospital, following an anonymous complaint.

Lokayukta Justice BS Patil conducted a surprise inspection, stressing that prior notice to hospital authorities might have allowed tampering with evidence. The inspection revealed serious lapses in administration, including the absence of full-time leadership, as the IAS officer overseeing the hospital visits only once a week.
