Dharamshala, Feb. 7 -- Former Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar on Saturday expressed deep anguish over what he described as a drastic fall in the standards of the Lok Sabha, calling it the biggest misfortune for the world's largest democracy.
Referring to the events in the House a day earlier, Shanta Kumar said the Prime Minister could not even come to the Lok Sabha to deliver his speech due to security concerns, following information received by the Speaker. He alleged that objectionable slogans were raised in the House and that a member was even branded a "traitor", something he said had never happened in the history of Parliament.
