New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- Even on the last day of the Monsoon Session, the logjam in Parliament continued. As a result the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 noon today, just minutes after it convened, following loud protest by Opposition members.

As the House assembled at 11 a.m. and Speaker Om Birla took his seat, Opposition MPs immediately began raising slogans, leading to a disruption of proceedings.

Despite the ruckus, the Speaker called for the Question Hour. However, amid continued disorder, he expressed concern over the repeated disruptions.

"Today is the last day of the Monsoon Session. If you are not allowing the Question Hour, the House is adjourned till 12 noon," Speaker Birla said before adjourning the house.
