Bokaro, Oct. 28 -- Tension prevailed in Bokaro district today after locals blocked the Chas Bypass Road for several hours, demanding the immediate arrest of those involved in the murder of Ajay Yadav alias Sonu, who was killed late last night in the Chas police station area.
Protesters alleged that the local police were shielding the culprits instead of taking prompt action. They accused the police of being involved in corruption and extortion, claiming that such practices have led to a sharp rise in cases of murder and loot across the district.
