Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 20 -- The deadline for submitting nomination papers for the upcoming local body elections is Friday, with the process closing at 3 pm. Candidates can file their nominations using Form-2, either in person or through a proposer, at the venue specified in the public notice.

To be eligible, a candidate must be a voter in any ward of the respective local body and at least 21 years old on the date of nomination, while the proposer must also be a voter from the same ward. Each candidate may submit a maximum of three sets of nomination papers.

Those contesting reserved seats must belong to the respective category, and SC/ST candidates must provide caste certificates issued by competent authorities.
