Srinagar, Feb. 11 -- Widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall lashed Kashmir over the past 24 hours, even as Gulmarg emerged as the coldest place in the union Territory, recording a minimum temperature of minus 5.5degC, the Meteorological Department said on Wednesday.

The ski resort of Gulmarg also recorded the highest rainfall in the Kashmir division at 22.2 mm during the 24 hours ending this morning. Srinagar recorded 1.2 mm of rain, while the hill resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir received 8.8 mm.

Among other stations, Qazigund recorded 2.2 mm, Kokernag 2.0 mm and Konibal 1.0 mm of rainfall.
