Shimla, Dec. 9 -- A light sheet of clouds drifting across the Himachal sky overnight improved the mercury on Monday, resulting in a marginal rise in minimum temperatures across several parts of the state.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, most stations recorded minimum temperatures that were normal to above normal by 2-4degC.
Shimla reported a minimum of 9.5degC, around 3.2degC above normal, while Sundernagar (5.7degC), Bhuntar (6.5degC), Kalpa (2.6degC) and Mandi (7.1degC) also witnessed warmer conditions compared with the previous day.
Manali registered one of the most notable increases, with the night temperature rising by 3degC to settle at 6.7degC-nearly 6degC above the seasonal average.
