Nagpur, July 16 -- A life-term convict committed suicide inside the jail premises in Maharashtra's Nagpur Central Jail.

The deceased has been identified as Tulsiram Shende (54) , serving a lifer sentence for murder.

According to official, Tulsiram had been lodged in the Nagpur Central Jail's medium security ward since his conviction.

He was a resident of Sakoli, Gondia district and was sentenced to life imprisonment on June 30, 2024 after being convicted in a murder case in Bhandara.

Tulsiram's body was found hanging on Tueday morning at around 7.45 near the window adjacent to the warehouse of the painting unit, close to Barrack No. 4 , the official said.
