Morena, May 16 -- A court in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday sentenced eight convicts to life imprisonment in a murder and attempt to murder case.
The special judge (SC/ST Act) Morena found the eight convicts guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment and imposed a fine.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on August 7, 2019, when assistant director of education (ADEO) Shivcharan Shakya of Janpad Panchayat Jaura was shot dead, and Janpad Panchayat coordinator Jagannath Sikarwar was injured in an attack near Bilgaon village in Jaura area.
The court convicted Ramkishore, Shivraj, Rajesh, Ramraj, Mukesh, Pradeep, Surendra, and Ravi, and acquitted three accused due to a lack of evidence.
