New Delhi, Jan. 5 -- Delhi Police on Monday arrested a life convict who had jumped bail after the dismissal of his appeal by the Delhi High Court, an officer said.

According to the police, the accused, Bhim Mahto, was convicted in 2002 for the 1999 murder of his brother, Kishan Mahto, in a case registered at Nabi Karim police station.

He had been sentenced to life imprisonment by a sessions court at Tis Hazari, but was later released on bail while his appeal was pending before the High Court.

On October 30, the Delhi High Court dismissed Mahto's appeal and directed him to surrender by November 5.
