New Delhi, Jan. 13 -- Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday laid the foundation stone for the strengthening and modernisation of the Nangloi-Najafgarh Road along with comprehensive drainage works, a project aimed at providing long-term relief from waterlogging and traffic congestion in West Delhi.

The project includes the construction of new stormwater drains, upgradation of existing drains and proper outfall connections with the Ranhola Drain, Najafgarh (Sahibi River) and Mungeshpur Drain. The road will be strengthened and reconstructed, and RCC crash barriers will be installed along the central verge to ensure safe and effective drainage during the monsoon.
