Lucknow, Aug. 1 -- Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has appointed Lt Gen (Retd) Dr Vipin Puri as the new vice chancellor of King George Medical University (KGMU) here on Saturday.
According to Rajhawan sources here Dr Puri, who is presently Professor Emeritus in AIIMS, New Delhi, tenure will be of 3 years from the day he takes the charge.
The post of KGMU VC was vacant for the past couple of months and SGPGI VC was holding additional charge so far.
