Bahraich, Oct. 15 -- A leopardess created panic in Bahraich district late Monday night when she entered a house located amid fields in Naveenpurwa village under the Katarniaghat Wildlife Division and attacked livestock, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The big cat killed two goats, and carried one away in her jaws, while her two cubs followed her.
In a dramatic turn of events, one of the leopard cubs got separated and remained inside the house, hiding in a room.
Its growling alerted the family, who quickly evacuated and locked the house from outside.
The incident sparked fear in the village, especially as the leopardess was believed to be lurking nearby.
According to villagers, this was not the first encounter.
