Bahraich (UP), Dec. 2 -- A Forest Department team on Tuesday morning successfully captured a leopard that had been terrorizing the Mahsi tehsil area of Bahraich district for about a month.
The animal was trapped in a cage set up near Karipurwa Katha village under the Tejwapur development block.
The leopard's terror at Mahsi was visible with its attack on an elderly woman who later died at Umri Dehloh village six days ago. Following the incident, panic spread in the region, forcing villagers armed with sticks to keep night vigils . With the leopard's capture, residents have finally breathed a sigh of relief.
