Nagpur, Nov. 20 -- Panic spread through the Bhandewadi area of Maharashtra's Nagpur city on Wednesday morning after a leopard was spotted inside a residential building, prompting the forest department to launch an immediate rescue operation, a senior forest official told UNI.

According to the official, the department received an alert about the leopard's presence in the densely populated locality. Teams from the Transit Treatment Centre of the forest department, along with two additional rescue teams, rushed to the spot.

The leopard had reportedly entered a second-floor flat of a residential building. Residents noticed unusual movements and, upon checking, were shocked to find the animal inside.
