Jaipur, Nov. 27 -- A prowling leopard hunted and preyed upon a cow-calf in the densely-populated Vidhyadhar Nagar colony of the Pink City here Tuesday night, officials said today.
The carnivore had sneaked into Sector - 10 of Vidhyadhar Nagar colony from the Beed Papad-Nahargarh Leopard Reserve, situated on the outskirts of the city.
The big cat preyed on the calf in the Shiv Mandir park of Sector 10 of the colony and fled without being noticed by locals, official sources said.
Later, Wednesday morning locals came to know about the hunting, with fresh and distinct pug marks found around the spot.
