Shimla, Feb. 17 -- Panic spread in the US Club area of the state capital after a leopard was spotted on the road in the early hours, reportedly hunting stray dogs in the adjoining green belt.

The sighting occurred near Shilli Chowk when Sushil, a keyman with Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam, encountered the animal during his routine morning duty. Sushil, who supplies water to the Jakhu and Lakkar Bazaar areas, said that as he turned towards the US Club stretch, a leopard was seen standing in front of him.

"I was taken aback. The leopard stood on the road for some time. A car approached and stopped after noticing it. When the headlights fell on the animal, it ran towards the adjoining colony," he said, adding that he later continued towards Jak...
