Washim, Nov. 24 -- A leopard was killed and another seriously injured after being struck by an unidentified speeding vehicle on the Akola-Hyderabad National Highway near Savargaon in Malegaon taluka today morning, Forest officials said.
According to Forest officials, the two leopards were attempting to cross the highway when they were hit. One died on the spot, while the other sustained severe injuries and was immediately rescued by the Forest department team. The injured animal has been sent for medical treatment.
Forest personnel conducted a panchanama and sent the carcass for post-mortem examination.
