Nashik, Sept. 24 -- A two-year-old child was attacked and killed by a leopard near Vadner Gate on the Artillery Center premises here last night.
The child, identified as Shruti Gangadhar, was reportedly dragged away from the courtyard of her home.
Following the shocking incident, Army personnel and forest department officials launched an extensive search operation. The teams, comprising approximately 250 to 300 personnel, along with thermal drones and dog squads, cordoned off the entire Artillery Center forest.
After nearly 18 hours of searching, the child's body was discovered deep inside the Artillery Forest at around 3.45 pm today.
