Leh/Srinagar, Dec. 18 -- The judicial inquiry commission to probe the September 24 violence in Leh will record oral statements from Friday, officials said.

Following the violence that left four people dead, including a Kargil war veteran, the Centre had ordered an Inquiry Commission under the chairmanship of Justice Dr BS Chauhan, former Judge of the Supreme Court, to conduct a comprehensive and impartial inquiry into the matter.

The Commission has already collected and examined the written proceedings and statements submitted earlier as part of the preliminary process.

In continuation of the inquiry, the Commission will commence recording oral statements from tomorrow, an official spokesman said.
