Leh/New Delhi, Sept. 29 -- The Leh Apex Body (LAB) today announced its decision not to participate in the October 6 talks with the center while the government said it is always open to dialogue on Ladakh matters with LAB and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) at any time. The Leh Apex Body (LAB), which is leading the demand for statehood and inclusion of Ladakh in the six schedule of the Constitution, stressed the need for judicial probe into the recent violence, the release of detained persons and restoration of peace in the region.

The head of the LAB Thupstan Chewang told reporters in Leh that the decision not to hold talks was taken unanimously in view of the tense environment prevailing in the region.
