Nagpur, Dec. 8 -- The Winter Session of the Maharashtra Legislative Council opened on Monday with a ceremonial rendition of Vande Mataram marking the 150th anniversary of the national song.
Council Chairman Ram Shinde called the House to order at noon. Ministers, including senior leaders from the ruling alliance, joined in the full recital of Vande Mataram, followed by the state hymn, before proceeding to legislative business.
The government introduced a series of items, including ordinances and supplementary budget demands for 2025-26.
