Kolhapur, Sept. 21 -- The Local Crime Branch (LCB) police today seized illegal gutkha and a tempo, with a total estimated value of Rs 32.74 lakh, at Aurwad village on the Ganeshwadi-Kurundwad road in Shiroli tehsil.
According to a press release, acting on a tip-off, the LCB team laid a trap on the Ganeshwadi-Kurundwad road and stopped a suspicious tempo.
Upon searching, police recovered illegal Vimal Pan Masala and tobacco worth Rs 26,64,200. In addition, the tempo and other materials were seized, bringing the total value of the confiscated items to Rs 32,74,870.
