Nashik, Oct. 17 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today described the LCA Tejas Mk1A aircraft as a shining symbol of India's growing self-reliance in defence and reaffirmed the government's commitment to achieving 100% domestic manufacturing in the near future.

Highlighting the transformation of the defence sector in the last decade, Singh asserted that the country, which once imported 65-70 per cent of critical military hardware, is now manufacturing 65 per cent of the equipment on its own, according to a Defence Ministry statement.
